ACET Syllabus 2019 - The IAI or Institute of Actuaries of India has published the Actuarial Common Entrance Test or ACET exam syllabus for the exam which was conducted on September 14. The ACET 2019 Exam is conducted thrice a year for prospective applicants who want to gain student status and membership with IAI. ACET 2019 comprises 70 multiple choice questions (MCQs) which cover a range of 5 topics, namely, mathematics, statistics, data interpretation, logical reasoning and English. The authorities have introduced slight changes in the marks held by these sections. Editions of ACET dating earlier than 2016 comprised a syllabus which was primarily quantitative in nature with questions on mathematics, statistics and data interpretation. Since 2016, the ACET syllabus 2019 has expanded in order to accommodate the changes in professional requirements in the domain of actuarial sciences in India and abroad.
ACET Exam Pattern 2019
The exam pattern and ACET 2019 syllabus comprises questions in five different categories carrying sectional marks as amended on July 16, 2019. Although there is no specific number of questions for each section, the weightage of marks allotted to each section is constant. The exam pattern consists of 70 multiple choice questions which are of 1, 2 and 3 marks and are equivalent to maximum marks equivalent to 100.

ACET Study Material 2019
For the ACET 2019 candidates, it is important to focus upon all the topics mentioned in the ACET syllabus 2019 as there is no fixed distribution of questions amongst these topics and therefore, any type of question may appear in the exam. Candidates who registered with IAI and have booked an ACET session are provided a sample paper along with an ACET answer key in order to understand the type of questions which may appear. Apart from this, prospective ACET 2019 candidates can download the past year question papers and solutions in order to understand the type of questions, difficulty level, as well as distribution in the question paper.
Institute of Actuaries of India or IAI has also provided a list of books which can be referred to in order to obtain ACET study material. These books may cover a few topics or the entire range of topics depending upon the purpose of the books. Although the reference books are useful for prospective ACET 2019 candidates, sometimes they may not cover the entire ACET exam syllabus.
Candidates looking for ACET syllabus on the official website may visit the website and enter the ACET portal. Here in the dropdown menu, there is an option of 'Syllabus' wherein the topics and sub-topics are provided.
A candidate has to score at least 50% marks in the entrance exam for passing.
The provision of negative marking has been called off since July 2019. Thus, there is no negative marking for upcoming sessions.
