The Chartered Financial Analyst has announced the CFA Level 1 pass percentage for the February 2025 session along with the results on April 3, 2025. In the CFA Level Feb 2025 exam, a total of 45 % students passed the exam. This is in line with the CFA Level 1 historical pass percentage which is 41% from 1963 to 2024. Talking about the CFA Level 1 pass percentage in the last 10 years, the pass rate has been 40%, lower than the historical pass percentage. This means that the exam is getting tougher over the years. However, this particular session the CFA Level 1 pass rate has shown good improvement.

In the last 10 years, a total of 10,85,540 candidates took the CFA Level 1 exams. Out of total 10,85,540, only 4,39,541 candidates passed the exam. A total of 6,45,999 could not qualify the exam in one attempt. The CFA Level 1 pass percentage slipped to 40% in the last 10 years compared to the historical pass percentage of 41%. The recent CFA Level 1 pass rate trends indicate that the CFA Level 1 exam is getting tougher. Comparatively, CFA Level 1 is the hardest exam out of the three levels.

If you analyse the CFA Level 1 pass rate for the last five years, the pass percentage falls further to 37%. A total of 3,95,033 candidates appeared in the CFA Level 1 exams in the last five years. Out of the total 3,95,033 candidates, only 145,242 candidates passed the exam. A total of 2,49,798 candidates could not clear the exam in one sitting. This shows a further downfall from the last 10 years pass percentage, again indicating that the CFA Level 1 exam is getting tougher.
