• Constructed response (essay) questions mixed into both exam sessions: In previous CFA exams, the first session focused on all essay sets and the second session was all item sets. Now, each session of CFA Level 3 exam will have either 6 item sets and 5 essay sets or 5 item sets and 6 essay sets.
• Math editor function removed: Earlier, candidates had the option of using the in-built math editor to describe the steps of calculation or show the values of the essay questions. However, this functionality has now been removed as it caused some confusion in the past. A correct value in the numerical box will earn candidates full credit.
• Highlighting function available within vignette: In the next CFA exams, candidates will have the functionality of highlighting pertinent text within a vignette for every question. Previously, the functionality was limited to the question itself, not the supporting vignette.
