CFA Level 2 exams are held three times a year. Candidates who fulfil the CFA level 2 eligibility requirement can register for CFA level 2 August 2024 and November 2024 sessions, registrations for which are currently open. Read on to find out what are the CFA level 2 eligibility requirements in detail.
Given below are the CFA Level 2 eligibility criteria that can be checked by candidates.
Candidates must be proficient in English - CFA exams are conducted only in English. Hence candidates must be proficient in English to read comprehension and provide answers of various complex financial scenarios.
Candidates must have a valid international travel passport - Those candidates who do not have a valid international travel passport will not be eligible to register/ sit for the CFA level 2 exam.
Candidates have to submit a “Professional Conduct Statement Form” - It is mandatory for all candidates to attest this form that they are in compliance with the requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree - Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college/ university
Undergraduate candidates are also eligible but they must be within 11 months of graduation to sit for Level II exam.
Candidates registering for the CFA Level 2 exam must have a combination of 4000 hours of work experience and/ or higher education. Dates of professional work experience and education should not be overlapping.
Professional work experience does not need to be investment-related. The CFA Institute also considers internships/ article ships/ family business, if they are paid.
Note - The CFA institute may ask the candidate to submit proof of education (mark sheet/related documents) and/or work experience details (salary slip/ letter of employment/ related) at any stage. Failure to provide the requested documents may consequently lead to cancellation of a current exam registration/ withholding of exam results/ investigation and disciplinary action by the CFA Institute.

Candidates must have a documented proof
Professional references for a backup are also important

After checking the eligibility requirements set by the CFA Institute, candidates can proceed to register for the CFA level 2 exams. The CFA Institute accepts applications for the CFA level 2 exam throughout the year. However, candidates must keep in mind the registration cutoff dates before filling the application form.
