The CMA Intermediate topper hails from Jaipur and has completed his schooling from Warren Academy School, Jaipur. Interestingly, Mohit Sukhani had also secured AIR 32 in CA Intermediate exam before he took up the CMA course.
CMA Intermediate result 2023 was declared in online mode on March 21, 2023. ICMAI released the CMA Intermediate rank list on March 22. The CMA Intermediate exams for the December 2022 session were held from January 5 to January 12, 2023.
Careers360 got in touch with the CMA Intermediate topper for an exclusive chat. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Careers360: Tell us about yourself?
Mohit: Hi, I am Mohit Sukhani. I was born in Jaipur and I cleared my CA Intermediate and CMA Intermediate exams both in my first attempt. I also secured All India rank in both of them (All India Rank 1st in CMA Intermediate and All India Ranks 32nd in CA Intermediate). I completed my schooling from Warren Academy School, Jaipur.
Careers360: What was your reaction on seeing your CMA Inter result?
Mohit: When I first saw my result on March 21, I could not believe it. I was very happy and satisfied. Then on March 22, when I saw that I secured an All India Rank 1, I was literally astonished at that point of time and was not able to control my emotions. To be honest I can not describe those feelings in words.
Careers360: How many marks did you secure in your CMA Inter December 2022 session in total and in each group? Was it your first attempt?
Mohit: I scored 568 marks in both groups comprising 305 marks in Group 1 and 268 marks in Group 2. It was my first attempt at CMA Intermediate.
Careers360: How challenging was the whole preparation process?
Mohit: To be honest, when you first look at the Intermediate course, it sounds a bit difficult because the course changes drastically from Foundation to Intermediate. The Intermediate course is approximately 4 to 5 times bigger than the Foundation course. But, as the CMA is a professional examination, So you have to expect such things. Also the syllabus is very vast and covers many things which were not read by us previously. New subjects and new papers are also challenging.
Careers360: What was your basic preparation routine?
Mohit:From the starting of Intermediate course I was very dedicated and punctual at it. After completion of course, the self study part is most important. Students can prepare in 2 to 3 months. During these months, I gave around 10 hours per day which led me to secure an All India Rank. Also in that period I solved previous year question papers of CMA Intermediate. and attempted 3 CMA Inter mock tests of each paper. Some of them were from my coaching and some I did and evaluated the results on my own capabilities.
Careers360: What did you like to do during free time amid your preparation? Any special thing that gave you relaxation?
Mohit: In breaks, I usually used to release my stress by talking to my parents, discussing with them, and enjoying it with them. Also, sometimes I used to walk at my home or at my garden near my house which also released most of my stress.
Careers360: Apart from the study part, what do you think you did differently that led you to success?
Mohit: I would say that if a student wants to clear any examinations, it would be very easy if you are consistent throughout your journey, dedicated and always motivated to achieve your goals.
Careers360: What are some of the best books that you would suggest for good preparation of CMA Inter?
Mohit: I used to follow the institute’s study material only. I would say you should not opt for any other author’s study material unless you have thoroughly read and solved all the questions of the institute’s study material. Furthermore, CMA Intermediate study material released by ICMAI is sufficient to score well in the examination because the questions which are asked in the examination are similar to the pattern provided in the institute’s material which allows you to score more.
Careers360: If you can describe your secret to success in these exams in one line, what would it be?
Mohit: In one line, I would say that it is neither intelligence nor hard work, it is the smartwork that will lead you to success in your life.
