The CSEET January 2026 session will be the last session to be conducted in the remote online mode. The revised CSEET exam pattern will be effective from the June 2026 session, which includes an offline exam at designated exam centres and a four-day exam format. Currently, CSEET is a single-day online proctored exam. According to the new format, the exam will start from 2:30 PM and end at 5:45 PM. Each paper is assigned 100 marks, and there is no negative marking in the Business Laws and Management paper.
Paper | Subject | Duration | Exam Format |
Paper 1 | Business Communication | 3 hours | Subjective |
Paper 2 | Fundamentals of Accounting | 3 hours | Subjective |
Paper 3 | Economic & Business Environment | 3 hours | Subjective |
Paper 4 | Business Laws and Management | 2 hours | OMR-based MCQ |
The CSEET syllabus for the June 2026 session is expected to be revamped to align with the new offline exam format. With the exam transitioning to a pen-and-paper format with a 4-day exam schedule, candidates should prepare for a syllabus that is vast and more challenging. ICSI will release the detailed syllabus on its official website shortly. Some of the key highlights of the revised CSEET 2026 syllabus include the following.
The syllabus will likely be aligned to the latest corporate, technological, and regulatory developments.
The new syllabus might emphasise conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, logical thinking, communication skills, and professional aptitude.
ICSI will offer newly revised study materials for better preparation for the offline exam format.
The updated topics and structure are expected to be designed for a strong foundational knowledge to further help with the CS Executive and CS Professional programs.
ICSI has revised the registration fee for the June 2026 exam, making it mandatory for all applicants. There are a few concessions for this payment. Applicants are advised to complete the fee payment before the deadline to ensure their registration is completed. Here is the revised registration fee and related details.
Particulars | Revised Fees (INR) |
CSEET Registration (Including Student Induction Programme (SIP) and Online Classes) | ₹7,500 |
Examination Fee (Per Session) | ₹1,500 |
There is a concession on the CSEET exam fees for applicants registering from different categories.
Category | Concession |
SC/ST | 50% |
Physically Handicapped | 50% |
Students from Northeastern States, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep & Himachal Pradesh | 50% |
Students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh | 100% |
Category | Concession |
SC/ST | 50% |

This new approach represents a major change in how the CSEET will be conducted. Aspirants will now need to prepare for a traditional, center-based test and the four-day schedule.
ICSI has allowed certain applicants to be exempted from appearing in the CSEET. They can directly register for the CS Executive Programme without taking the entrance test. The list of the exempted candidates includes:
Candidates who have cleared the ICSI Foundation Examination
Candidates at the Final Stage of the CA (Chartered Accountancy) or Cost Accountancy Course
Those who passed a bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate degree exam.
Individuals appearing for the final year or the final semester exam of the bachelor’s degree examinations.

On Question asked by student community
Hello Priyanka!
The CSEET exam, face a technical glitch, and then have your result cancelled. Unfortunately, technical issues during online exams are a known problem, and the best step now is to formally write to the ICSI explaining your situation. Attach proof if you have screenshots, error messages, or invigilator reports. Mention that the paper difficulty felt unusually high, though keep in mind that exam difficulty alone is not usually a valid reason for re-evaluation—it’s the technical failure that strengthens your case for a retest or consideration. ICSI sometimes conducts special re-tests for affected candidates.
Best wishes, and thank you!
Hi Priyanka,
If you successfully passed the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) in May 2025, you are eligible to register to appear for CS Executive in the next available session, which will be June 2026. The CS Executive exams are conducted twice a year, in June and December, so you can plan to attempt the exams from June next year after completing the CSEET.
Hello Shreeja,
Since you cleared your CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) in May 2024 and missed the date for a single module in June 2024, you do not need to give the CSEET again for the December 2024 attempt.
You can register for both modules of the Executive Program in December 2024 without reappearing for the CSEET. Just ensure that you complete your registration and submit the required documents before the deadline.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
No, you cannot appear for the Executive exam in June 2025 if you give the CSEET in May 2025. To be eligible for the Executive level, you must clear the CSEET first, and only then can you register for the Executive program. Additionally, there is a mandatory gap of at least 8-9 months between clearing the CSEET and attempting the Executive exams. Since the registration cut-off for the June 2025 Executive attempt would likely be in February 2025, clearing the CSEET in May 2025 would not allow sufficient time to register for that attempt.
