ACET 2020 - The Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) is going to conduct the February 2020 session of Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET) in computer-based mode on February 29, 2020. Registrations for ACET 2020 stared on December 5, 2019 at 3 PM in online mode and candidates can register to appear in the exam till January 28, 2020. The ACET 2020 admit card will be released on February 12, 2020 in online mode to be accessed through candidate login. ACET 2020 is the qualifying exam for those wishing to pursue actuarial science. Those who crack ACET 2020 will be eligible for membership and student status in IAI for up to three years after result declaration. IAI holds this exam twice a year, for a duration of 3 hours wherein candidates need to answer 7 MCQs from mathematics, statistics, data interpretation, English and logical reasoning. ACET Eligibility Criteria 2020

IAI has specified the eligibility criteria for ACET 2020. Candidates who do not fulfill the basic requirements stand the risk of losing their candidature. Thus, knowing the eligibility criteria is a must for prospective candidates as provided in the table below:

ACET Registration 2020

ACET 2020 Registration commenced on December 5, 2019 and shall last till January 28, 2020. Registration of ACET 2020 is an online process so eligible candidates can read the steps below to apply for the CBT:

  1. Click here to open the official ACET registration page.

  2. Fill your basic, academic and contact details on the registration form carefully.

  3. Once the form is completed, fill the ACET 2020 registration fee online.

  4. On successful transaction, candidates will receive a confirmation mail on the registered email address.

  5. Candidates are advised to print out their completed registration form of ACET for future reference.

Registration fee: The ACET 2020 registration fee is Rs. 3000 which is inclusive of the cost of one sample paper, indicative solution and the online exam.

ACET Admit Card 2020

IAI will release the ACET admit card for February session in online mode on February 12, 2020. Candidates of ACET 2020 February session will be able to download ACET 2020 admit card from the official website. Every candidate’s important details will be mentioned on the ACET 2020 admit card. Thus, it is mandatory for candidates to report at the CBT venue with their admit card for verification purposes. Without their admit card of ACET 2020, candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

How to download ACET Admit Card?

Candidates have to follow the steps provided below for accessing the ACET admit card 2020:

ACET Exam Pattern 2020

The current exam pattern of ACET was introduced in 2016. ACET 2020 is a 3-hour exam and within the time limit, candidates need to answer 70 multiple choice questions from mathematics, statistics, data interpretation, English and logical reasoning.

ACET 2020: Preparation Tips

  1. The candidate should be well versed with the ACET pattern and types of questions which will appear in the exam.

  2. The candidate must be thorough with the ACET 2020 syllabus and topics in order to grasp the subject matter for the exam.

ACET Passing Criteria 2020

The passing criteria of ACET 2020 is determined by IAI which a candidate must fulfill in order to clear the CBT. The ACET passing criteria is the minimum requirement of marks for selecting eligible test takers for membership and student status with IAI. Candidates need to score at least 50% to qualify ACET 2020. There is no minimum sectional cutoff that the candidates need to score.

ACET Result 2020

The result of ACET 2020 for February session will be made available by IAI on March 7, 2020 in online mode. Candidates need their login credentials to obtain their result. The ACET 2020 result shows whether a candidate has met the passing criteria or not. Thereafter, they can know whether they are eligible for IAI student membership. Question: Is maths compulsory for ACET exam?


No. English is a mandatory subject but there is no compulsion for mathematics. But, it is expected that candidates with maths background will apply for actuarial programme.

Question: Can the registration fee be paid via offline modes?


No, the registration fee can only be paid through the online mode of transaction.

Question: Will stationery be provided at the exam centre?


Candidates need to carry their own pens for rough work as these will not be provided by the conducting body. No other stationary item will be permitted inside the examination hall.

Question: Can the test center and test time be selected by the candidate?


Candidates can select their preferred city for the ACET test centre during the registration process. However, there is no option for time selection as ACET 2019 will be held in a single time slot across the country.

Question: Can a candidate attempt the exam more than once?


Yes, the ACET can be attempted more than once by a candidate by re-registering for the exam.
