ICAI CA Foundation Jan 2026 exam notification has been published on September 23, 2025. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India conducts the Foundation exam thrice a year. The CA Foundation January 2026 exam dates are January 18, 20, 22 and 24, 2026. The CA Foundation Exam Date will signify the first attempt for the year, and the registration closed on September 1, 2025. Once registered, candidates can fill in exam forms, download admit cards, and appear for the exam offline.
The CA Foundation exam forms was available from November 3, 2025, and candidates can submit forms without paying a late fee until November 16. ICAI allows a late form submission until November 19 and provides a three-day correction window. Admit cards for the exam are issued two weeks before the exam date, usually falling in the third week of December. After the exams end, the results are released, and students can register for the Intermediate exam.

The CA Foundation exam comprises four papers testing accounting, laws, quantitative aptitude, and economics. The Accounting and Business Laws paper lasts for three hours, and the Quantitative Aptitude and Business Economics paper lasts for three hours. Each paper contains a mixture of MCQs and descriptive questions.

The pattern of questions in these papers is 30% MCQs and 70% descriptive. There is no negative marking in the CA Foundation Exam 2026 papers.
Students must score at least 40% in each paper and 50% aggregate to pass.
Scoring 60% or more in a paper gives exemption for three attempts.
Permanent exemptions are granted in rare situations with ICAI approval.
The CA Foundation exam form Jan 2026 opened on November 3, 2025. Submission without a late fee is available till November 16, followed by three days for late fees, i.e. November 19, 2025. ICAI offers a correction window so students can fix errors in the exam center, group, or medium within three days after forms close.
ICAI releases the CA Foundation admit cards online two weeks before the first examination day. Candidates need to log in and download the admit card from the ICAI portal. The result is announced after approximately 45 days from the day of the last paper, expected in March 2026.

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce):
You can continue your studies with B.Com. It gives you a strong base in accounts, finance, and business, and you can go for other professional courses later.
CS (Company Secretary):
If you are interested in company law, compliance, and legal work, CS is a good choice.
CMA (Cost Management Accounting):
If you like accounting and cost management, CMA is another strong course.
BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration):
This course is good if you are interested in management and business studies. It also opens options for an MBA later.
Accounting and Finance Diplomas or Certifications:
You can do short-term courses like Tally, GST, Financial Modelling, or Digital Accounting. These help you get job-ready faster.
Banking and Finance Courses:
You can go for professional programs in banking, stock market, or investment analysis.
