CA Foundation is the first level of Chartered Accountancy course. Every year thousands of candidates appear for the CA Foundation exam. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) releases the statistics for each session along with the results. On an average around 90,000 to 1,00,000 students appear for CA Foundation exam in one particular session. The number of students is variable each session, however the average number sticks around 90,000. The data on how many students appeared for CA Foundation Jan 2025 exam has not been released yet. The CA Foundation September 2024 was the first session conducted after the ICAI announcement that the CA Foundation exam will be conducted thrice a year. A total of 70,437 candidates appeared for the CA Foundation Sep 2024 exams. Out of the total 70,437 candidates, 37,444 were male candidates, while 32,663 candidates were females. A total of 13,858 candidates passed out of 70,437 candidates. The CA Foundation Sep 2024 pass percentage was 19.67%.

ICAI releases CA Foundation pass percentage after each session of the exam.The CA Foundation pass percentage denotes the comparison between total number of students who appeared for the exam and total number of students who passed the exam.
