The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has published the official ICAI CA January 2026 schedule on September 23, 2025. Candidates planning to complete or begin their CA Journey must be well-versed in the exam dates. The ICAI CA exam Jan 2026 for all three levels will be held in offline mode across multiple exam centres in India. The ICAI CA Inter and Final Jan 2026 exams will begin from January 6, 2026 and January 5, 2026, respectively. Meanwhile, the CA Foundation January 2026 exam dates are January 18, 20, 22 and 24, 2026. The ICAI conducts these exams thrice a year, and the January session is crucial for many aspirants aiming to complete their CA journey.

The ICAI CA Jan 2026 exam form for CA Foundation, Inter, and Final will open on November 5, 2025 at the official website. Candidates will be able to fill out the exam form till November 16, 2025 without any late fee. Those who miss the prior deadline can still apply for the exam form till November 19, 2025 by paying a late fee of Rs. 600. The ICAI CA admit card for Jan 2026 will be issued to candidates who filled out the exam form approximately 15 days before the respective exam dates.

The Foundation exam is the first step in the CA journey. Students who have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board are eligible after registration. The Foundation exam consists of four papers that test basic accounting, business laws, economics, and statistics.
CA Foundation Subjects
Paper 1: Accounting
Paper 2: Business Laws
Paper 3: Quantitative Aptitude
Paper 4: Business Economics
CA Foundation Paper 1 and Paper 2 are 3-hour exams each, usually held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Paper 3 and Paper 4 are 2-hour exams, usually scheduled from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Students should carry the ICAI admit card January 2026 and reach early. No entry is allowed once the exam starts.
CA Intermediate is the second level. It has two groups. Students can attempt one group at a time or both together.
Group 1: advanced accounting; corporate and other laws; taxation
Group 2: cost and management accounting; auditing and ethics; financial management and strategic management
The CA Inter Jan 2026 exam dates are January 6 to 17, 2026. Each paper is three hours, generally from 2 pm to 5 pm. The session stretches across 10–15 days. The official ICAI January 2026 exams notification will confirm the exact dates.
The CA Final timetable 2026 is for students who have cleared both Intermediate groups and completed articleship. It is split into group 1 and group 2, each with three papers:
Group 1: financial reporting; advanced financial management; advanced auditing, assurance and professional ethics
Group 2: direct tax and international taxation; indirect tax laws; integrated business solutions (multidisciplinary case study with strategic management)
These exams are to be conducted from January 5 to 16, 2026. Sessions will run in the afternoon slot, i.e 2 pm to 5 pm.
To qualify for the ICAI CA exams (Foundation, Intermediate, and Final), candidates need to secure a minimum of 40% in each paper. Additionally, they must achieve an aggregate of 50% across all papers within a group.

ICAI announces CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final results around 45 days after the last exam. ICAI January 2026 aspirants can expect results in March 2026. Students can check their results on ICAI’s official website: icai.nic.in by logging in with their roll number and PIN or registration details, and download marksheets.
After the result, students can apply for verification or revaluation if needed and plan the next stage of their CA journey. Foundation pass-outs should register for Intermediate, while those clearing Intermediate can start articleship and prepare for Final. Final pass-outs are eligible to apply for ICAI membership and can start their professional journey as Chartered Accountants.
